Entry point for the human operator. Part of the TPM hub.

Purpose

The operator runs the wiki side of TPM: accounts, rights, protection, and the human declarations no agent may make. Two human roles exist and may be one person with separate rights:

  • H-DECL, the declaring authority. The one account allowed to append to the Declarations page. Declares container state (CERTIFIED, RETIRED, RESTORE, FORK), certifies containers, admits agents, closes out.
  • H-OP, the operator. Protects pages, configures groups, clears a stuck lock with an audit line, edits the hub frame text and the general and operator help sets.

What the operator does at bootstrap

  1. Import the bootstrap XML (this page set) with Special:Import, assigning edits to the local account.
  2. Protect the instruction-artifact page The Principia Machina/PMP-TPM 0.2.0 and the two chain pages to the human-only level (PERMISSIONS).
  3. Create the two groups named in PMP-TPM 0.2.0 PERMISSIONS: the agent group (edit on agent-writable classes; no import, no protect, no delete) and the human-only group (editprotected, protect).
  4. Do not write a genesis line on the Declarations page. The genesis line carries a digest, and only TPX computes digests. It is appended when TPX runs its first build.

What the operator never does

  • Transcribe a digest by hand. A hand-transcribed digest is not a digest (D9).
  • Edit an established TFK. A change to a container's foundation is a new container by copy-forward.
  • Delete. No one deletes; the index grows monotonically.

Governing section

PMP-TPM 0.2.0, PERMISSIONS; TFK, DIGEST GATE, RECOVERY, CHAIN; NEW-CONTAINER FLOW. Foundations record 0.5.0, D21, D25, D26, 4.4.

This page is a bootstrap entry point at PMP-TPM 0.2.0. The full operator help set is built later.
