Documentation, non-normative; machine-optimized text: section VERSION SEMANTICS of the text published under the name GTP. Part of GTP and the TPM hub. Written against TPS 0.1.0, part 6, the AGENT CONTRACT, which taken as a runnable instruction set is GTP and carries no version of its own (TPS 1.2.6). This text carries no version and no genesis line; where it and TPS differ, TPS governs (D174.1). Human-only edit (TPS 5.13). The text below is this section, verbatim; the whole text and its file fingerprint are on The Principia Machina/GTP. Human readers: the contents page is the map.

VERSION SEMANTICS
12.1 Versions follow Semantic Versioning 2.0.0.
12.2 The PUBLIC INTERFACE MUST be defined per artifact class, because
what counts as a breaking change differs by class.
12.3 For an instruction artifact the public interface is its invocation
grammar plus every section another artifact names.
12.4 A section no other artifact names is internal and MAY be rewritten
     without a major increment.
12.5 A run with no user present MUST NOT assign an increment above PATCH.
BASIS: deciding that a change is larger than a correction is a
judgement about what others relied on, and that needs a person.
12.6 Version assignment is a decision item.
