8.1 The foundations record as source (TPS 0.1.1)
Appearance
Instruction artifact, machine-optimized text: TPS 0.1.1, section 8.1 The foundations record as source. Part of TPS 0.1.1 and the TPM hub. Human-only edit (TPS 5.13). TPS 0.1.0 was declared final at revision 4 on 2026-09-22, a version declaration recorded in the foundations record; the chain begins at TPX's first landing (TPS 5.6.7). Version 0.1.1 changes only the status lines (this lead, the title's version and the header's version line); H-DECL declares it. The text below is this section of the TPS 0.1.1 artifact, verbatim; the whole artifact and its file digest are on The Principia Machina/TPS. Human readers: the contents page is the map.
TPS 8.1 THE FOUNDATIONS RECORD AS SOURCE
purpose: the record as DATA; its version and change record; the routed
obligations and TBD register as TPS's origin docket; what TPS
transcribed from the record alone
governs: 8.1 | version: 0.1.1 | class: instruction artifact
audience: operator
8.1.1 The foundations record, tpm_foundations_record 0.5.0
(2026-09-13), is a descriptive record of the decisions and
requirements settled in the TPM foundations thread. Not an
instruction artifact. It carries no obligations and writes no
register. Every line of it states what was declared, selected, or
follows from a standing rule, and says which. [B-42] [B-45]
8.1.2 Where the record's sections land in TPS: 1 NAMES -> 1.1; 2
PROJECT CONSTANTS -> 1.2 to 1.4, 4.1; 3 DECISIONS D1-D33 -> the
rules throughout, their bases in 8.2; 4 RECORDED REQUIREMENTS ->
parts 2 to 5; 5 DETERMINED BY STANDING RULE -> parts 3 to 5 and
7; 6 STATED LIMITS AND NON-GOALS -> 7.1; 7 OBLIGATIONS ROUTED TO
PIECES and 8 TBD REGISTER -> the OWED lines; 9 TRANSFERRED ITEMS
and 10 OPEN QUESTIONS -> 8.1.5 and 8.1.6; 11 CHANGE RECORD ->
8.1.3; 12 SOURCES -> 8.3 and the references page. [B-41] [B-42]

8.1.3 The record's versions: 0.1.0, 2026-09-12, D1-D14 and the TBD
register at 19 items; 0.2.0, 2026-09-13, D15-D22, the renames of
D17, sections 4.7, 4.8 and 12; 0.3.0, 2026-09-13, D23 and CR9;
0.4.0, 2026-09-13, D24, the declared parameters, TBD 22; 0.5.0,
2026-09-13, D25-D33 and section 12 group J. Each version was
proposed by a branch and declared by the human. [B-45]
8.1.4 The implementation's own history, as its change record states:
PMP-TPM 0.1.0 emitted 2026-09-13 from an answers file derived from
the record at 0.3.0 and declared installed the same day; 0.2.0,
2026-09-15, MINOR, carrying D25-D33. Its ranking-rule notes and
sequencing rule are its own and are not TPS rules. [I-136] [I-012]
[I-017]
8.1.5 Record 7 routes obligations to the pieces; TPS is the pieces, and
carries each as an OWED line at the page named: the CAC items at
2.5, 4.1, 4.5, 5.5, 5.6, 5.14; the RR items at 3.2, 3.3; PLATFORM
at 5.2, 5.15; TPX at 5.3; PRB at 5.4; TMS per container at 2.4.
Record 8's open items land the same way: 11 (Public Recorder
scope, accumulating in part 5), 12 (3.3), 13 (3.4), 19 (2.2, 2.3),
the sub-item of 6 (3.3); 22 is an implementation matter. Record
9's transferred items DD1, DD2 were resolved outside TPM's scope.
[B-41] [B-42] [B-43]
8.1.6 Record 10's open questions that touch TPS: the guide and the
charter it digests, not reachable (2.2, 2.3); conceptual diagrams,
none declared (5.15.5). The rest are record and implementation
matters. [B-44]
8.1.7 Decisions D37 and D38, selected 2026-09-16 after the record's
0.5.0, are not yet in the record: D37.1 makes TPS one artifact
with the AGENT CONTRACT as part 6 and rewrites CR9; D38.2 sites
the implementation's status register. They land in record 0.6.0.
[F2]
8.1.8 Rules of parts 2 to 5 whose sole source is the record (the
implementation states no rule for them): 2.1.3, 2.1.4, 2.1.5, 2.2.2, 2.3.2, 2.3.4, 2.3.5, 2.5.6, 2.5.8, 3.1.2, 3.1.5, 3.1.6, 3.2.6, 3.3.2, 3.3.4, 3.4.2, 3.4.3, 3.4.6, 4.1.7, 4.2.2, 4.2.4, 4.2.5, 4.2.7, 5.2.3, 5.3.4, 5.3.6, 5.4.3, 5.7.2, 5.7.3, 5.8.3, 5.8.4, 5.8.6, 5.8.7, 5.9.1, 5.9.3, 5.9.4, 5.9.5, 5.9.7, 5.11.7, 5.15.1, 5.15.2, 5.15.3, 5.15.4, 5.15.5, 5.15.6. Each cites
its record anchor; the record is DATA, and these rules become
normative here. [C-28]
