| Short title | Current, line of force, and vortices |
|---|---|
| Image title | A vertical circuit carries a current from copper to zinc. A horizontal line of magnetic force embraces the circuit, and two vortices sit on that line with their axes along it. The figure fixes the handedness relating the direction of the current to the direction in which the vortices revolve. |
